St patty's day

Yup. Bunch of green yarn made into shamrocks and 4 leaf clovers and hung together on a chain. Looks like a great  St. Patrick's necklace to me. For my mom. Cause she is green like that. I didn't save the page but search shamrock garland. You'll find plenty

cell phone holder

I have this cell phone. Nothing fancy, free from assurance wireless. But never anywhere to put it. I used to have a flip phone i could jam in my pocket. This one got open buttons and a screen to scratch. So..  An amulet bag. yup. that is thicker cord the black there not thread and I wear it around my neck or hanging off my purse or coat.

Angry Bird hat

Too cool. This is my hat. Mainly because I didn't realize the pattern was for an adult had. Who knew adults loved angry birds. Mine is missing his top feathers though. I have a fluorescent orange somewhere I want to use for them. My old school colors ar orange and blue.
There is a video tutorial as well as writeen directions. From the wonderful Teresa Richardson .

My sons like this hat but they like me wearing it more then them wearing it.

Dragon

Along with making clothes I've started making amigurium animals.

I added the horn and the untangled yarn as hair. The eyes are just thread. I found this pattern Here.
The creator has many patterns available on ravelry and she is very talented

Not sure what this is. But my kid liked it. He calls it the EyeGuy. It about 6 inches tall. I wanted to make something I could take my son while he was in the hospital and they were very picky about things.

This looks to me like a variation on the pop heart. It was maybe half the size and still cute. And I cant find the site but searching heart or valentines day crochet is probably what i was looking at when i found it.

I didn't like this as much as the heart above but it was definitely easier.

Flat applique design. a conglomerate of other ideals squished into an owl by me. This is my son's school mascot.

 Owl heads. easy and cute.

Sunrise Winter Set

I love these colors. Unfortunately hats don't like me. I'm terrible at getting hat sizes right. Maybe my family just has big heads. So the hat doesn't quite fit right. It was going to be a give away set but I ran out of people to give stuff too.

This piece is a neck cowl. Its made with left over yarn in a ribbed style in a big rectangle then joined together.

Fingerless gloves, because really when you go from house to car to place and back you don't need fingers on your gloves you use pockets. These are great to drive with. Notice the cuffs in the matching colors. I have a pair of these with simple edgings just to wear at the PC when its cold. The PC is by a large window and it keeps my hands from getting chill and cramping.

And because the hats hate me, I made a head band with matching pompoms. cause pom poms are great. And maybe even fashionable again. Sometimes its hard to tell. And I cant remember for the life of me what that stitch is but I love it and I'm going to find out. It looks like a flat cluster almost. I haven't worn this it may very well end up in the stash till next yr. I hope the pom poms are still IN.

Seth's Hooded Sweater

I am so proud of this sweater. I was never good at making clothes. Probably because when you first start to crochet your tension varies and your stitches then vary and edgings always seem off. Now I feel like I crochet like a machine and I had this lovely yarn I really wanted to make my son something he could wear. His classroom is usually warm but the halls are cool so this sweater is made in a baby weight yarn I found on sale and bought all they had. Its a beautiful super soft light blue with slightly dark variations throughout, by Bernat. They edgings are done in a baby weight yarn in a darker blue with a pearly like yarn thru it. It's slightly heavier and definitely not as soft as the bernat. The patter is from red heart. It called for worsted weight yarn and an f and h hook. With the baby weight I used a e and g hook and for my seven yr old who wears 7/8's I used the largest size variation (size 10). So lighter weight yarn, smaller hook, larger size to compensate. It fits him well and he loves how soft it is. And of course he loves anything with a hood.

There was a point I was going to make this a vest with a hood. The pattern can easily be altered to accomplish it. Just an ideal. My son loves hoods and this he could wear in school over another shirt. You can yeah or neigh the large pocket too. I know I will use this pattern again. As soon as I find a nice stash of yarn perfect for it.

I almost forgot the cute beanie hat I made from the same yarn. Hood or not on a chilly day a beanie cant be beat

Ski Mask

A ski mask just in time for the only snow I've seen lay on the ground here. This is for my youngest son, he is 7. This mask fits fine It'd made exact to pattern except for one thing. The pattern seems to suggest working in rounds. But with a double crochet there is a sizable gap from the end of one round to the start of another. I simple sl st to join each round instead. Did I mention this hat fits fine!

By the way the pattern is From grandma's Heart

Now I tried to repeat this pattern for my son in black, but with 2 eye holes, and no mouth. You see the openings better in the patterns pics. They are kinda large for a 7 yr old. For the eyes I added to the opening on the sides and connected 2 stitches in the middle. I have taken that project apart 3 times now. I was sure it was the same kind of yarn but apparently black doesn't stretch as well as the white did and we haven't gotten a good fit yet. When we work it out I'll be sure to post my alterations.

Swag Bag in purple

This was an interesting project. I didn't really have anyone in mind when I made it, just a lg skein of purple yarn to use. There is a granny square version I liked as well. I'm sure if you searched you tube for "granny square bag" you'd find it. This bag was a video tutorial from Onevirtuiouswoman. There is a printed version available. Although she does a great job of taking you through a possibly more then a day project for some. The crochet handles were added later after watching a video by xxcountrygirl1986xx. I lined my bag which was an interesting first as it was done along with croc stitch bags I did for Xmas.

Knowing me I would have this bag spilling all over the place so Ive been considering a flap to go over the top between the handles and securing the sides. I have a lattice looking piece that I was going to cover in purple and white flowers and such just because the rest of the purse is a lil plain. But I tend to go over the top so it's as yet a work in progress

Most of the flowers made can be found Here. The tiny butterflies were a video tutorial from Dreambiglover. There is also a dragon fly and multi budding flowers that where just inspired by the real things as I was playing around with the designs. By the way none of that is sew in place so thats why you see alot of string and loose ends.

OMG! it's Feb.?

Wow. The holidays went by so fast. Well I've had many personal things on the front burners so to speak lately. I didn't forget my blog, really I didn't. I've gone back and found any project I've done and taken pics to post. Most of these were things to keep me busy and my mind off of other things.
